It’s been a busy and exciting few weeks preparing for June 24, the surprise baby shower for one of my besties, Rachael. She’s expecting her first child, a baby girl, with her husband Dan in August. Rachael and I have been friends since elementary school and I’m so excited for her baby girl to be here (I’m an impatient aunt, haha).

It was such a great day celebrating this exciting new chapter in Rachael’s life under the theme You Are My Sunshine. Cute, right!? This day was even more special because all of us were there. When I say “us,” I mean the Bitchettes (the long meaning behind this I’ll save for another post, but the short meaning is it stems from my mother’s group of friends she’s known for years). There are 8 girls in the Bitchettes, including me, and some of us have been friends for 10 years. We’ve been through so much together and I’m so thankful for their friendship, constant love and support. It’s often difficult to get all of us together at one time, but it’s awesome when it happens, and we always take a picture, which I’ve included.

I wouldn’t be a good fashion and lifestyle blogger if I didn’t incorporate a couple yellow pieces into my outfit of the day for the shower based on the theme. So I decided to wear these yellow tassel earrings from Bauble Bar and these super comfy yellow scalloped heels from Express. Yellow has definitely become my new favorite color of the summer. Also, I’m so proud of this romper I’m wearing from Sienna Key at Marshall’s. It was just $15! It not only kept me cool (Sunday was a hot summer day in New Jersey), but I loved the bright color and it was super comfortable, which is important in any piece, but especially when it’s hot outside. Rachael and I have always talked about getting married, having kids and being moms, and I couldn’t be happier for this new chapter in her life to begin. You’re going to be a great mom, Rach!
