It’s an exciting time for my family, and not just because it’s the summer and beach season! My cousin Ashley is getting married next year, on March 30. Ashley has always said that she never wanted to get married or have kids, but that all changed once she met Ron. It’s amazing how one person can change your life in an instant and cause you to re-think everything you thought you wanted for yourself. I’m so excited to be part of their special day, especially because I’m a bridesmaid!

We recently celebrated Ashley and Ron’s engagement at the Rum Runner in Sea Bright, New Jersey, which brought their closest family and friends together. It’s difficult to get my family together all in one place, especially because some live out of state, so it was so special having everyone there. My aunt flew in from Missouri, my cousin was there from Texas, and several of my cousins drove in from Brooklyn. I’ve included a couple photos of some of us – aren’t we cute?!

I received so many compliments on my outfit for the engagement party that I had to share it with all of you. I knew this bright red sweetheart jumpsuit from Express was perfect, and something that would keep me comfortable and cool in the summer weather. It’s now my favorite summer jumpsuit. I actually bought it a few weeks ago with the intention of saving it for this special day. I paired the jumpsuit with these light blue suede heels from the Journee Collection at DSW, which are super comfortable, the detail on them is amazing, and they even come in a few other colors! I headed to one of my favorite local boutiques, My Sister’s Jewelry Box, to find the light blue earrings I’m wearing because I can’t go anywhere without a good accessory. OK, more like several accessories haha, which is why I also wore this gold statement necklace from Boscov’s. It was a Christmas present from my mom a couple years ago, and it’s one of my favorite staple pieces in my jewelry collection. I’ve linked a similar one here and another from Francesca’s here.

It was such a great day and I look forward to all of the planning and excitement leading up to the wedding next year. Ashley, I can’t wait to stand by your side as you marry the love of your life. Eight months until you say “I Do!”
